A comforting and creamy dish that combines tender beef and mushrooms in a savory sauce served over egg noodles, perfect for family gatherings or special occasions.
1tablespoonChopped parsley or green onion for garnish
Instructions
Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
Once hot, sear the sliced beef until browned, about one minute per side. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add the unsalted butter, then the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes until soft and golden.
Add minced garlic and cook for one minute. Sprinkle in the all-purpose flour and stir for another minute.
Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, then simmer until thickened.
Mix a spoonful of the warm sauce into the sour cream to gently warm it, then add to the pan along with Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper.
Return the beef to the sauce, warm through on low heat, and serve over cooked egg noodles garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
Cut against the grain for tender beef.
Use fresh mushrooms for better flavor.
Adjust sauce consistency with beef broth or water if needed.
