Main Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons Butter Creates a rich flavor and helps achieve a golden crust.
  • 6 large Eggs (room temperature) Provides structure and lift for a fluffy texture.
  • 1 cup Milk (warmed or room temperature) Adds moisture and richness to the batter.
  • ⅓ cup Sugar Sweetens the pancake and promotes browning.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla (or bourbon, rum, or brandy) Enhances flavor and aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 cup Flour Provides the base structure for the pancake.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Ensure the oven is fully heated.
  • In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and flour. Blend for 10 to 15 seconds until smooth.
  • Place the butter in a 9x13 baking dish or a 12-inch cast iron skillet. Put it in the preheated oven to melt.
  • Once melted, swirl the butter to coat the bottom evenly, then carefully pour the batter into the hot dish.

Baking

  • Bake the pancake for 15 to 20 minutes, checking after 15 minutes for a puffed, golden appearance.

Serving

  • Slice the pancake into 6 to 8 servings. Serve hot with maple syrup, berries, or powdered sugar.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better rising. Avoid opening the oven door while baking.
