Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) to ensure the ribs cook evenly.
Carefully peel off the tough membrane on the bony side of the ribs for better seasoning absorption. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil.
In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, cumin, and optional chili powder. Rub this spice blend generously over both sides of the ribs.
Drizzle olive oil over the top for added flavor.
Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake the ribs for 2 hours.
In the last 5 minutes of baking, mix together the barbecue sauce ingredients: garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and salt.
Remove the ribs from the oven after 2 hours and uncover the foil.
Spread the barbecue sauce mixture evenly over the cooked ribs.
Increase the oven temperature to 460°F (240°C) and return the ribs to the oven uncovered for 10 minutes.
For a nice finish, broil on medium-high heat for about 3 minutes to caramelize the edges. Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
